1. Dame Nellie Melba (1861-1931)

Dame Nellie Melba, born Helen Porter Mitchell, was one of the most famous Australian opera singers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She was born in Richmond, but later lived in Doncaster where she built a grand country house called "Coombe Cottage" in 1912. Melba was the first Australian to achieve international recognition as a classical musician.

2. Robert Helpmann (1909-1986)

Robert Helpmann was an Australian ballet dancer, actor, and choreographer. He was born in Mount Gambier, South Australia but spent some of his childhood in Doncaster. Helpmann gained international fame for his performances with the Royal Ballet in London and his association with the choreographer Frederick Ashton.

3. Deborah Conway (1960-present)

Deborah Conway is an Australian rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. She was born in Melbourne and raised in Doncaster. Conway was a founding member of the 1980s band "Do-Ré-Mi" before pursuing a successful solo career. She is known for her powerful and distinctive vocals.

4. Danny Green (1973-present)

Danny Green is a former professional boxer from Australia. He was born in Perth, Western Australia but later moved to Doncaster. Green held multiple world titles in different weight divisions throughout his career and is a well-known figure in the sport.

5. Matthew Mitcham (1988-present)

Matthew Mitcham is an Australian retired diver and Olympic gold medalist. He was born in Brisbane, Queensland but spent his teenage years in Doncaster. Mitcham achieved great success at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, winning the gold medal in the 10-meter platform event.

Shaun Micallef is an Australian comedian, writer, and television presenter. He was born in Adelaide, South Australia but spent some of his early years in Doncaster. Micallef is known for his satirical and absurdist humor, having hosted various television programs and starred in successful comedy shows.

8. Brian Henderson (1931-2021)

Brian Henderson was an Australian television presenter and newsreader. He was born in New Zealand but moved to Doncaster during his childhood. Henderson is best known for his long career as a newsreader on Australia's Nine Network, where he became a trusted and beloved figure.
